SUMMARY:Semaine d'action contre le racisme / Action Week Against Racism
DESCRIPTION:La Semaine d’actions contre le racisme et pour l’égalité des chances (SACR) a été créée en l’an 2000 pour souligner la Journée internationale pour l’élimination de la discrimination raciale\, proclamée par l’Assemblée générale des Nations Unies. Sous l’égide du CIDIHCA\, son principal objectif est de prévenir et combattre l’exclusion basée notamment sur la couleur de la peau\, l’origine ethnique ou nationale. Cet objectif est poursuivi par des activités qui favorisent un dialogue public éclairé à propos du racisme et de la diversité et qui visent le rapprochement entre toutes les personnes qui habitent le Québec\, peu importe leur origine\, qu’elles soient des premiers peuples ou issues de l’immigration\, de l’époque coloniale à nos jours. \nLa SACR est un événement fédérateur de plusieurs organismes partenaires et militants du Québec. Afin d’atteindre ses objectifs d’éducation\, de dialogue et de rapprochement\, elle s’appuie sur les points communs qui rassemblent les divers groupes. La SACR vise aussi à diriger les projecteurs sur certains enjeux pour sensibiliser les gouvernements et les institutions afin de les inviter à y trouver des solutions. \nLa thématique de cette 25ème édition : « Regard historique sur le racisme au Québec : le rapprochement entre Québécois de toutes origines et les nations autochtones ». \nTémoignez votre engagement pour la cause et proposez une activité pour le 25e anniversaire de la SACR ! \n  \nThe Semaine d’actions contre le racisme et pour l’égalité des chances (SACR) was created in 2000 to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination\, as proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly. Under the aegis of the CIDIHCA\, its main objective is to prevent and combat exclusion based on such factors as skin color\, ethnic and/or national origin. This is achieved through activities that promote informed public dialogue about racism and diversity\, and that aim to bring together all Quebecers\, regardless of their origin\, whether they be Indigenous or of immigrant background\, from colonial times to the present day. \nThe SACR is an event that brings together many different partner organizations and activists in Quebec. To achieve its goals of education\, dialogue and rapprochement\, it builds on the commonalities that link the various groups. The SACR also seeks to shine a spotlight on particular issues\, raising awareness and inviting governments and institutions to find solutions. \nThe theme of this year’s event will be : A Historical Perspective on Racism in Quebec: Bringing Together Quebecers of All Origins and Indigenous Peoples. \nShow your commitment to the cause and propose an activity for the 25th anniversary of the SACR !
